Not sure what I make of this exhibition ... perhaps watching the videos of talks on the ICA website will be illuminating. Its colourful, appealing, vibrant. Its quirky and seems to have energy. But somehow its not quite enough for me.
The first Stanley Picker lecture of 2016. South African artist Ansel Krut talking about his body of work of flower paintings.
Torso shaped vessels. Krut says that he imagines the vessels to be life-size (i.e. human sized) while the flowers also are life-size. So he is playing with two different scales but imagining them together.
Training day at the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne - how to write a funding application with Emilia Telese. Lots of good advice! I briefly saw the sea :)
At the Towner: Art from Elsewhere
Particularly I liked this work by Eugenio Dittborn.
Tate Britain to see: Frank Auerbach, Britain & Empire exhibitions. (no photos)
Also - display of Gustav Metzger: Autodestructive Art
Saatchi Gallery: Champagne Life, and the Schools competition
Also in Saatchi - Revelations by Aidan http://www.saatchigallery.com/current/revelations.php
Really liked the presentation of the slideshow - projected downwards on to a piece of paper on a table in a dark room. Looking like a sketch page - but changing.
